We are often encouraged to try fish oil and it is marketed as oil that’s extracted directly from fish. It is quite true that deep ocean fish is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids. There are two main components of Omega 3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA. In reality, some oil seeds also contain them, but extracted them from plants at significant quantity can be quite slow. It appears that intellectual performance can be improved due to continuous intake of EPA and DHA. Blood clotting can be prevented from clotting too soon and fish oils are mild anticoagulants. Continuous consumption should improve our immune system and protect our nervous system. Severe macular degeneration, Type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis can be slowed down significantly by consuming enough Omega 3 fatty acids. We should be aware that the level of DHA and EPA could be much lower due to crude process, so we should choose proper brands.
