Consuming simple carbohydrate too much won’t be good for our body. It could actually cause weight gain and increase water retention. If the situation isn’t addressed, it is quite possible that we will have slower recovery process, because it will take more time for our body to repair micro-tear in our muscle structures. Treatments for exhausted athletes include consuming balanced nutrition and having enough rest. Saturated fats are also notorious in causing bad effects in our body. We should have a proper combination of complex carbohydrate, unsaturated fatty acids and essential amino acids.
