The Rural And Urban Wonders Of New Zealand

New Zealand is unique. Not only it has beautiful rural landscape, but it has also comfortable urban settings. The country is known for its cool beaches, great plains and white glaciers. As an example, by visiting the Fox Glacier and Franz Josef villages, we could also explore the nearby glaciers. The Milford Sound is also a wonderful rural setting and the legendary writer, Rudyard Kipling, being a well-travelled man, once said that the Milford Sound should be considered as the 8th wonder of the world. Milford Sound is located at the Fiordland National Park and it is considered as an important World Heritage area.

Travellers could cruise the still, clear water of the national park, with its magnificent sights, as well as awe-inspiring sites, such as Stirling Falls and Mitre Park. However, we should expect some rain when we visit the area, because it is known as the area with the highest rainfall in the country. In fact, Stirling Falls should be visited during rainy season, because the waterfall simply looks majestic with its torrential water. Travellers should also keep a lookout for various wildlife animals, such as seals, penguins and dolphins. It is quite easy to gasp at the majestic appearance of the fiord when we are travelling with boat.

The Mildford Deep Underwater Observatory should be seen as a worthwhile attraction and we could descend about 30 feet below to marvel at wonderful marine life, such as the rare red and black coral, fish, sponges and anemones. In this case, we should discover the Middle Earth and New Zealand is a place where we can actually witness the true depiction of Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Guides could bring us to key areas that are featured in the trilogy, including Queenstown and the Southern Alps. The peaceful hobbit village was located at the Matamata and travellers could marvel at the beautiful landscape.

New Zealand is also known for its comfortable urban centers. The largest city in New Zealand is Auckland, while the actual capital is Wellington. However, Auckland is often the first city that visitors go when they first set foot in the country. Just half an hour from the area, we could find many enchanting holiday locations, hiking trails and beautiful beaches. Auckland also has plenty of modern amenities and we could find diverse options of hotels, restaurants, stores, shopping malls and others things, when we want to occasionally experience the urban setting in the country.

Auckland is also known as the City of Sails, because of it is known for being a location with the highest boat per capita compared to other places around the world. The city is surrounded with water bodies near volcanic hills. The city has a superb harbour with a population of around 1.3 million people. Here we can find European culture, combined with the usual rhythm of Polynesian culture. Auckland is also known for its outstanding shopping facilities, wine and great food options. This is the place where we want to visit for a long period of time.
