Travelling In Tanzania

Many tribes in Tanzania inhabit where food can be obtained or grown more easily, such as around Lake Victoria, the northern mountains with their fertile soils and near the coast. The famous Serengeti plains are known for the gigantic horde of wildebeests, which is known for their annual migration. During the great migration, millions of wildebeest could stretch as long as 40 kilometers. The large mass of moving meat attracts many predators, including leopards, lions and cheetahs. Hyenas and wild dogs could also be found scavenging on carcasses left by larger carnivores. This provides travellers a wonderful natural show and it is advised to visit the country when the migration takes place. Tanzania is also known for its superb wildlife collection.

Travellers could go to the Ngorongoro crater with its perfect caldera. It is a biological wonder with interrelated ecosystems between woodlands, bushes and craterous highlands. Tanzania was also the place where fossils of Zinjanthropus were found at the Olduvai Gorges, located between the Ngorongoro crater and plains of Serengeti. The 50-km long strip is an important archaeological site and numerous humanoid fossils were unearthed. Teeth and bones of hundreds of extinct animals were excavated in the area, showing that the area was once a thriving area with plenty of animals and plants.
